Step by Step Guide to Making Coffee

  1. Coffee is kept in the freezer in the kitchen and sometimes on the shelf to the left of the freezer.
  2. Coffee makers are on the tables adjacent to the sink.
  3. To make regular coffee:
    • Start with a large coffee pot (includes tall "stem", basket and slotted basket top)
    • Rinse if necessary
    • Fill pot with 30 cups of cold water
    • Insert stem into basket and seat stem/basket in coffee pot (basket should be at the top)
    • Since basket is too large for conventional filters, overlap paper towels in basket to act as filter (I usually tear and fit three segments in around the stem, overlapping to cover the whole basket)
    • Fill basket with a little less than 2 cups of regular coffee grounds
    • Cover top of basket with basket cover
    • Plug coffee pot in and ensure it is on (it takes approx 30 minutes to make 30 cups of coffee
  4. To make decaf:
    • Start with Mr Coffee pot
    • Rinse if necessary
    • Fill coffee maker with 10 cups of cold water (you can use measurements on coffee maker
    • Insert coffee filter in filter basket
    • Fill basket with about a half a cup of decaf coffee grounds
    • Close basket
    • Plug coffee pot in and ensure it is on (it takes approx 15 minutes to make 10 cups of coffee

1 Peter 4:8-10 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully ministering God’s grace in its various forms.
