Thank you for volunteering to serve at Fellowship Hour this Sunday. Your service is truly appreciated and makes a difference.
Preparation
Order bagels in advance (Friday) from Bagel Supreme on Mountain Ave. in Springfield (973 376 9381) – 2 dozen mixed no garlic, 1 dozen plain, and request that they be sliced in half.
Pick up bagels at 8:30 am – sign receipt and leave a copy on Pat Miller’s desk in 2nd floor offices.
If desired, you can bring baked goods and/or fruit as well.
Bring whipped butter/cream cheese, 2% milk, half/half, juice, water.
It is nice to have two containers each of butter and cream cheese, one set for each bagel platter.
Check in advance in the center refridgerator to see if you can use food leftover from the week before.
Helga Schlape (973 377 2350) will stock plates, cups, coffee, etc in kitchen.
Cover rectangular serving tables (table covers in kitchen in boxes under center tables).
Make 30 cups of regular (large pot), 10 cups of decaf coffee (Mr. Coffee pot), 10 cups hot water for tea (Mr. Coffee pot) (click here to learn more about making coffee).
Place butter out on tables to soften.
Fellowship Hour
Right before end of service, take out milk, cream, juice, water (possibly pre-pour some for small children), cream cheese, fruit, and remove food coverings.
During Fellowship Hour, ensure milk and cream are full, and all serving tables are kept neat.
Clean Up
Pack up leftovers – baked goods can be frozen; cream, butter, cream cheese refrigerated.
Add donation money to green envelope in freezer and take out any money for your purchases.
Wash coffee pots, serving plates and all utensils, dry and put away. Match coffee pots with “innards” and return to boxes.
Wipe off each table in Fellowship Hall, clean kitchen, clean floor as necessary, and tie full garbage bags and place in janitor’s closet under the front entrance stairs.
Thanks again for your faithful service! Please let us know if you have any questions.
1 Peter 4:8-10 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully ministering God’s grace in its various forms.
